“Iron” is my exhibition about Iron Age Art. I take the word “Iron” and get inspired by some of it different meanings today: in architecture, society, erotism etc. putting it in my paintings http://geoin2012.wordpress.com/

Robert Mapplethorpe And The Iron Kings

Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe 1969 005-robert-mapplethorpe 5c00bbf4-cf1e-4758-9128-5be8939b2ba9_g_273

All of these photos are from Robert Mapplethorpe. But I think Robert Mapplethorpe has a good place in my Iron new theme since his photos 1) show iron gun sometimes 2) deal with black body beauty which is something you can see in Iron Age representation of people in Assyria and South Mediterranean Kingdoms, Egypt, Babylon etc. the white body symbolizing women and colored body men.

Now about the topic of flowers, I really like the shadow in most of the flower photos even the color orchidea is amazing with its strange beauty and when it is old by this muscular Afrian man it’s really creative and beautiful. Robert likes closed eyes models like this one above and like he explains in the movie I watched yesterday maybe because of his catholic education with a lot of clothed-eyes-saints paintings, I don’t know…

M Cicconne T

  • I really like the work of M Cicconne T (see Self-Portrait bellow and website here) and I think he performs his art with a mixed medium technics of his own he so far excell in. Born on December 12, 1969 in Indonesia, M Cicconne T is like me a self-taught artist. He says that his mature skills and love for art painting and drawing have evolved into an award winning of his own style. Although he received no formal art education, he has developed his skill over a period of time and used a variety of mediums.

  • With each painting/drawing he creates, he says that a little bit of his soul flows onto the medium to swirl with the vibrant colors and light. He doesn’t feel the need to capture everything exactly as it exists in so-called reality. To appreciate space and form from an imaginative, spiritual and non-realistic perspective for him comes closer to capturing what’s more real: that which leaves an impression on his heart and mind. The unseeable spirit that moves form and space. So to him abstraction and true representation are not so far apart. He seeks to paint not only objects, but also the spirit therein. For him this is the most personal, emotional and thought-provoking form of art. He considers a painting complete when the idea he is trying to express matches the thoughts in his mind. Often this process leaves him naked he says and he is feeling exceptionally vulnerable. If somebody, while looking at his artwork gets that special feeling of something personal, he is satisfied. Therefore this is a deep thnought which shows that he is deeply involve in his creation process. In addition he for years proceed on ebay an unique way to sell his paintings: selling them with bids startin g at only 0.99 USD but as I saw often his paintings reach 100 USD and sometime s much more. I think his deep reflexion and clear way to show his artwork with his excellence in his technics allowed him to catch the interest of the London Gallery/shop Adonis Gallery…

  • I let him talk about his artwork: “Some people classify my painting/drawing style as realistic impressionism, pop arts, mixed of mixed, and I have been told to be ‘everywhere’! The truth is I am simply using the way that most comfortably expressing my inner emotional feeling, through my favorite subjects. You may consider yourself of having a specific style and refuse to do more to bring up what other potentials in you you may have and worse dare not to step out of your “style”, limiting yourself to be doing more. I prefer to follow what my mind tells me to do, I am eager to try new techniques, new mediums. What is on my mind is going to be what my drawing/painting will be. For me, art is about expressing how I feel and enjoying what I do. Since my childhood, started from pencil drawing, watercolor, acrylic, oil, then pastel painting. I have been experimenting almost every style every medium. At the moment, I enjoy combining watercolor, ink, and colored pencil. I use cold press paper that has uneven surface. First I sketch, followed by applying watercolor or ink to fill up to create the ‘base’ on the uneven surface. After it is completely dried then I layer colored pencils to bring up the light and give life to my drawing/painting. The result is wonderfully amazing. It looks just like oil painting without having to wait the oil to dry or pastel drawing without the powder. Colored pencils that layer on the top of watercolor also work as preservation to protect the watercolor/ink underneath, but still, for extra protection to your investment I also still spray several layers of fixative onto the artwork. My work has been proven to be collectible and to look for in Asia now in the USA. Please get it while it is available. All of models of my artwork are either imaginary, live models, pictures. All models are of ages of 18 or older.Thank you for your interest in my artwork and especially your support to what I do…” Meanwhile I am not sure his paintings will last a very long time because the kind of paper he uses seems perishable and I think it’s a pitty if it should disappear one day. That’s why I use acrylic and oil on canvas like the professional painters of all times in order to allow my work to live through many generations without problems… I wish he will realise this one day and try to find a good way to preserve his work because I like it very much!

http://www.artchic.com/photographe/anthony-gayton/gayton.htm:

When my book ‘Sinners & Saints’ was released in 2005, it marked a huge turning point in the direction of my work. Instead of writing a classic biography, I decided to write a short story, partly based on fact, which added a more private element to the mythology of the book.

I hadn’t written anything before this since my university degree project ‘The Angelus’ in 1990 and managed to unearth the original Angelus text (it had luckily escaped my personal-history vandalism of the late 90’s). Lillian, the heroine, creates the ‘perfect’ man, an angel, out of thin air and Victorian hypocrisy. Divided into elemental chapters, each distinctly connected to the seasons, the story took me just over a year to complete, shooting in 2005, partly in England & Wales and partly in Austria. (Of course, I did shoot ‘The Angelus’ in 1990, experimenting with darkroom techniques, but later destroyed most of it. Above are a few of the surviving examples compared with those from 2005.)

The success of ‘The Angelus’ (re-worked) was the encouragement I needed to continue producing illustrated stories, and to date I have written eight short stories and poems, two of which, ‘Falling Awake’ (a ghost love story) and ‘Jude’s Kiss’ (doomed calf-love) can be read in their entirety on my website. Although the writing itself is an exciting process, the main advantage is the creative license a written text gives me as a photographer – the images themselves are freed from any purely narrative constraints.

As with the images, the text is by necessity rather small on the website. I am currently working on my second book, a large-format fairytale book for grown-ups, in which the written stories can finally be seen/read, and hopefully enjoyed, without the aid of a magnify glass.

No. As much as I could wish it at times, Anthony Gayton is neither anagram, pseudonym, nor acronym for some gay artistic collective. I was baptized Anthony John Gayton in Barnstaple, England in 1968, and have been suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous laughter ever since. At the time I began publishing my work, I did briefly consider opting for an ‘artist’ name. I toyed with ‘Anthony Gordon’ for a while, as an homage to Gordon Anthony, the 30’s ballet and theatre photographer, but then discovered that there is already a photographer called Anthony Gordon. The second alternative was jump in at the deep end and dispense with the ‘ton’, as a reference to the obvious, but also to Barnstaple’s own famous 18th Century playwright, wit and poet, John Gay. Ironically the final decision to keep my own name was to prevent any confusion, and I have consequently been suspected of using a pseudonym ever since.

It is with old 16 years that Anthony Gayton, born in 1968 in England, is discovered a passion for the photograph. Studying at the university of Westminster, it obtains its diploma with mention in 1990.
After some exposures on London, it becomes in 1993 the assistant of Andreas H. Bitesnich. It decides into 1998 to join again with a passion: the homosexual erotic photograph. Taking as a starting point myths, by icon or fairy tales ageux means large gay, Anthony Gayton successful with these photographs tables to transport us, to make us live, in one moment, one moment privileged with the history

PUMPING IRON. I finally managed to get the video on xvideo correctly. This is the only way for me to post x gay scenes, a trying, my web hosting just told me that I can just have 10% of multimedia on my website braking my dream of uploading movies and photos for ever, again and again. Back to earth. Here is therefore an actor who has his own website: Marcus Mojo and he gave me the idea of what may come after Sexy Prehistory, PUMPING IRON.

Summary of previous exhibition called “Sexy Prehistory”: the Neanderthals disappeared no one knows why, or by disease or killed by animals that seems unlikely because he was a strong hunter, or killed by the new species homo sapiens the species where we directly come from… After seeing the French film The Last Neanderthal and got the news this week (March 13) that the Neanderthal had vision much more superior than our vision and therefore much larger eyes too, which mays explain its strange vanishing on earth since he developed a strong vision in his brain at the expense of sociability that would have saved him. In short, we saw today the Neanderthal like the perfect man (see the movie Le dernier Neenderthal), non-violent, connoisseur of nature and magical man somehow because he knew how to use nature to perfection without destroying it therefore with the maximum respect of Life on Earth …

LAR_BD_4136_A LAR_BD_4148_A Le-totem-Pierre-et-Gilles-1984 Mercure,+Enzo+Junior,+2001 Original original_big_pierre_et_gilles_1_600xfree

But what comes after him? Homo sapiens and more acurately the Bronze and Iron Ages. After the Stone Age and Neanderthal cave art (this I painted for two months), the figures appears on painting with humans and with human destruction: before we have painted on stone walls the beasts which were hunted and killed, it was the subject of these paintings in caves, after with the appearance of metallic technology we see in art hunting with human figures and finally the inter-tribal violence and killing too, they are represented in and on stone, in and on bronze and iron tools, jellery and weapons…

So I had the idea to look through my paintings in another totally different way than with Sexy Prihistory: I’ll take what today makes me think of this passage between docile stone, and ecological destructive and criminal metal. I was therefore searching what today could represent the “Iron Men” and I discovered a photographer David Shootmeup from London whose art approaches Pierre et Gilles from Paris and Justin Monroe from Hollywood. I also discovered photos of Andy Houghton and new porn men like Shawn Kaden and Marcus Mojo… see bellow how Muscle mixes with Iron (video above). The title that I found: “PUMPING IRON” is fake of course and I won’t call my exhibition like that, this is a humorous wink but it is perfect to start my searching for this second show of the year 2013: “Iron Kings”.

p&g3 p6 pierre_et_gilles PIERRE_ET_GILLES_067 Pierre_gilles

And finally, having finished his book and found the painter Rothko intelligence about Art History (Renaissance) amazing (but apparently contradictory with his own art)? (And after I saw a documentary on him) so I decided to push my technical search and my own plastic this side now.

———————————————————–

———————————————————–
